Judy Ryan is an advocate for those with facial difference — a 41-year cancer ‘treatment’ survivor, who was given a fatal prognosis at the age of 16 when a malignant facial tumor exploded on the left side of her face. She never looked the same again. After losing vision, hearing, part of her jaw from radiation treatment, and 20+ reconstructive surgeries (many of which made matters worse) she knew there was purpose for her journey.
Tales of Grace: A Different Me (now available in paperback) is a product of Judy’s life experience, told through the lens of 11-year-old Grace, who battles bullying and self-confidence as she returns to school after almost 2 years of challenging illness and recovery.
Judy is a native of Los Angeles, has enjoyed a successful 23-year career with Disney, and reaches out to those dealing with issues of appearance and cancer. Her mission is to help girls and women embrace their look, and overcome the challenges of being judged by others.
