Cheryl McKay is the screenwriter of the award-winning film, The Ultimate Gift, & co-author of the novel, Never the Bride. Never the Bride is loosely based on Cheryl’s life as a single woman who waited for God to write her love story. She started writing the story in 2006, when the waiting season was in full swing. It wasn’t until after the novel’s release that what God was doing on her behalf became apparent. She shares her story of faith, frustration, having to trust in the midst of no tangible evidence that God was at work, and the dynamic payoff of what God was writing for her.
Cheryl can speak to youth or church singles groups about waiting, trusting God, finding hope in long seasons of waiting, and especially to women’s groups. She speaks from a Christian perspective, and one that shares that God wants a close relationship with us and still speaks to us today.
She has been the keynote speaker at such events as the Simi Valley Discovery Church Women’s Christmas Party, and Mt. Soledad Presbyterian Church Christmas Tea (with her husband, Chris Price). She’s been a panelist or speaker for many organizations, such as Lionsgate Leadership & Missions Institute, Hollywood Connect, Act One: Writing for Hollywood, Regent University, & Biola Media Conference. She has been a guest on TV shows like The 700 Club, The Steve & Kathy Show, and TBN’s Top-3 & Illuminations. She has spoken to book clubs going through Never the Bride or Finally the Bride, in person and over Skype.
