Classroom teacher, leadership and team development consultant, coach, and author—Debbie blends her knowledge and experience to share core business leadership principles with teachers. The Classroom CEO helps teachers discover their potential for leadership and develop their skills in self-awareness, working with students, and satisfying their customers.
Having spent over a decade in the corporate arena as an interior designer of business and retail spaces, Debbie returned to school to earn her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English and Secondary Education. She completed seven years of teaching before returning to corporate work as a facilitator and coach for a large health care organization. While teaching “soft skills” to corporate leaders and employees, she began implementing the practice of these “soft skills” in her own life, and found that she grew both professionally and personally. Increased knowledge of her “self,” her values, and her self-motivators led to greater self-confidence and self-empowerment, resulting in her return to the classroom, opening a consulting business, and writing a book.
Debbie is an award-winning educator and a respected group facilitator and coach. She has twice received an Outstanding Educator Award from The Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program, is a past recipient of an Ashland Oil Golden Apple Achiever Award, and is a National Board Certified Teacher of English Language Arts. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and Northern Kentucky University.
